SVI specializes in Business Intermediary and Advisory Services. We began 26 years ago, precisely to guide and assist small and mid-sized, profitable, privately owned firms ($2million - $25million revenues) through the merger and acquisition process.

SVI's founder, John Barnard, is a manager by training and experience. He has worked for a Fortune 500 electronics manufacturer in both the comptroller's department at Corporate headquarters and as Business Manager for 25 engineers in the Advanced Development lab. He has owned and sold two distribution companies in Massachusetts. As a consultant to the Small Business Administration and US Department of Commerce, he provided technical, managerial and fund raising services to smaller companies throughout MA, CT and RI. He has taught small business courses to MBA graduate students at Northeastern University. John received an AB degree from Princeton University and a Masters Degree from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration.

SVI's Vice President, Marketing, Mary Helen Collins, brings over 25 years of Fortune 500 sales and marketing experience to the business. Our marketing goal is to maximize lead generation effectiveness through Direct Mail/E-mail campaigns, white papers, seminars, engagement marketing, channel partners, and networking. She is in continuous touch with the daily workings of SVI and its clients.
